Welcome to The Boo Stew: News and Notes from the House of Bousquet
The past couple of years of bouncing through chaotic and under-funded stretches of life and learning,
writing all the while and often times furiously, find us ready to launch the church CD
and begin the next project - almost simultaneously. This one isn't taking us
years to finance, nor 8 months to make - thru an Iowa winter, healing a brain injury, repeated car problems, family upheaval, personal work from the floor, and a partridge in a pear tree, among other things. "Ricochet", a collection of
songs written by Sharon AND Phoenix between her car accident/injury and
mine (last month... more about that later), has become a powerful collection of haunting melodies, stories of struggle and surviving extreme crisis, and the signature vocal harmonies of Phoenix Jordan and Sharon Bousquet making spines happily tingle the world over. Americana, Contemporary Folk, world music influences; instrumentals and a cap pieces surrounded by full band acoustic pop or string-laden lushness serving as a bed for prosody and praise of the body. Ah, Beaucoup Shakti!

This brilliant fund-raising and knowledge-building website for artists and arts-related projects worthy of and needing more support during the challenging times we're living in, is such a gift.
