Long Time No See - Update Nutshell! |
Hello all!
Sharon here, with a brief, late-night update on all things Bousquet.
This has been a very eventful spring/early summer for us. Heather, the vocal wonder woman and my duomate in Beaucoup Shakti, graduated from MUM with a degree in Sustainable Living. After a year of fighting for her mind, sometimes her life, I cant begin to say how grateful I am that she achieved this milestone in her recovery. Brava, chica! She also changed her name to Phoenix Jordan, taking her mother's maiden name and a new first name symbolizing her rise from the ashes of the accident and brain injury into a new and amazing version of herself. What a year!
My oldest son Pasha graduated from high school, and heads to Iowa State University in August. Not wrapping my mind around the strangeness of having someone you've raised and lived with and loved deeply for 18 years go off and live elsewhere.. weird. Songs will come of this.... :-) His equally wonderful younger brother Tomas will get to experience what being an only child is like as he hits adolescence with the full attention of both of his parents. He may wish for Pasha's return before too long! I am very deeply and widely blessed.
Phoenix and I wrapped up the recording portion of "How Spirit Sings", the fifth and final choice to name the new inspirational CD - beaucoup shakti's first and my 6th! It is mixed, the song order chosen, the artwork mostly done. On my way to the mastering studio in Cedar Falls last week (Catamount, of course), the guy in the opposite lane fell asleep at the end of a long work shift and came fully into my lane at 55 mph - on a bridge!! I am so very grateful that I saw the whole thing happening and had time to hit my horn and pull onto the small shoulder to the right before impact. Thanks to that little gift of 2 seconds he hit the top of the side panel of my car and continued down the entire left side. No air bag deployment, thanks to that foot of space I took to save my life. whew. Talking with God about why this happened, it seems that I was an angel cushion that day. I can only imagine what a 55 mph impact into a concrete bridge would do to a sleeping driver and his young son... So, all is well. My neck is hurtin' and my back is tight as a drum, but we are all alive and will be fine with time and physical therapy. Life is good!
My Outlook program crashed and burned the day before this accident, taking with it years of contacts, my current gig calendar, my email lists, my list of prepay clients for the new CD... so much. Oy oy oy.
BUT>>>>>> WE HAVE A NEW CD THAT'S GOING TO RELEASE SOON!
And I have to get off this computer and get some needed rest.
Love to all,
SB. www.reverbnation.com/beaucoupshakti
