1.   Like This One
An imagistic lyric about feeling destined for much bigger things than your present life is showing you, rides on a simple, rhythmic four chords and a broken heart.
2.   Not Enough Love
Coming home from a music conference in Kerrville, Texas, my waitress at the Cracker Barrel restaurant sparked the completion of this song about the hazards of working so much that there's no down time for love. This one's for my waitress, Sarah.
3.   Work of Art
A simple love song coming from a place of awe and appreciation in the presence of a brand new lover. We can never have too much gratitude.
4.   Ocean of Desires
This song is addressed to a higher power, and came out of a chat with God at a point in my life when I made the (foolish?) mistake of asking for direct, universal input in trying to "fix" my "problems". The answers continue to come.
5.   All I Have to Do
My ode to the beginning of spring when everything is fecund and blooming, including the libidos of single folks everywhere. Grrrrrrrrrr.
6.   What's the Deal?
A hobbled relationship falters slowly and you're in it, watching, shut out by your partner and waiting for the other shoe to fall.
7.   Blind and Asleep
Refers to all of us. As our world becomes increasingly busy, our lives disconnected from true intimacy and a feeling of personal belonging, we often seem to be sleepwalking at a dangerous pace - sleep running! Consider this song an attempted wake up call : "..Oh the age of reason, a growing treason in my heart, for all that we are is what we wish to be, we're blind and asleep, blind and asleep."
8.   Back to Me
For all of the lovers in the world who have found occasion to wonder about their significant other, "What brings you back to me? Rattlesnakes and kisses, all the hits and misses, it's a game we dread to play, but we're addicted."
9.   Holy Water
A bonus track on a small number of Live in Texas CDs. It is a bridge between the spiritual and the life of the senses, a dialogue about living in Texas where it's wet and humid ("air so thick, we're walking through water.."), at the same time feeling a drought both physical and spiritual in nature.
